Welcome

On behalf of our pupils, staff, governors, and the wider school community, I am delighted to welcome you to Kingsley Special Academy. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and to learn more about our very special school.

Kingsley is a vibrant, inclusive, and nurturing learning community where every child is known, valued, and respected. Everything we do is rooted in our shared values of being purposeful, aspirational, reflective, joyous, and genuine, which guide our decisions, our relationships, and our daily practice.

We are proud to be a school where a diverse group of pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities learn, play, and grow together. Our approach is purposeful: learning is carefully planned to be meaningful, relevant, and tailored to each pupil’s needs, supporting communication, independence, wellbeing, and preparation for the next stages of life.

We are aspirational for every child. We believe strongly in our pupils’ potential and work hard to remove barriers so that they can achieve, flourish, and take pride in their own progress, however that may look for them. High expectations, delivered with care and understanding, sit at the heart of our work.

As a reflective school, we continually evaluate and develop our practice, working closely with families, therapists, and external professionals to ensure our provision is responsive and effective. This reflective approach is strengthened through our proud membership of the Kingsley Learning Foundation Trust, where collaboration and shared expertise help us deliver the very best outcomes for pupils with SEND.

Our specialist facilities play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing. These include a hydrotherapy pool, sensory studio, soft play areas, and a fully equipped teaching kitchen. These spaces are used in purposeful and carefully planned ways to support regulation, physical development, communication, independence, and life skills, ensuring learning extends beyond the classroom.

Kingsley is a joyous place to learn and work. We celebrate progress, relationships, and the small moments that matter every day. Our school is filled with warmth, laughter, and a strong sense of belonging, where pupils are encouraged to be themselves and to feel safe, confident, and happy.

We are proud to be part of the Ise community. We value strong partnerships with families and see ourselves as a source of support beyond the school gates. Through open communication, shared events, and the use of our facilities, we strive to build trusting relationships and to ensure families feel welcomed, listened to, and supported.

Our website offers a window into life at Kingsley and provides information for families, professionals, and anyone who shares our commitment to inclusive education. I hope it gives you a real sense of who we are and what we stand for.

If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact our Reception Team, Family Support Team, or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. We are always happy to help and to welcome you into our Kingsley community.

Best regards,
